Manga and Anime Review

     The first time I heard about Kingdom was exactly 3 years ago, at that time I just felt this manga was bad just because I didn't like the art, because the characters looked so weird and I thought historical war manga would be boring, with each chapter just going to be full of characters with the same face. But over time, this manga is getting more attention and popularity. Surprisingly, at the end of 2019 Kingdom sales jumped to 3rd position, which made me wonder what made this manga so famous. Then I tried to read the first chapter of this manga because I was very curious about the story and what made it great. At the beginning of the first chapter, I felt that the two protagonists in this manga are ordinary because they are similar to other shonen characters who compete with each other to achieve their dreams, such as Asta and Yuno from Black Clove r, but the last part of the first chapter surprised me, I didn't expect that such an event would happen so qu...

       A man who climbs walls tens of meters without any equipment, a man who can hold his breath and swim underwater for a long time, a man who can punch the Statue of Liberty to a crack, a man who can kill a human with just his breath, this is what you got when you first watch the Baki series in Netflix. Baki itself follows the story of a young boy, named Baki Hanma who wants to beat his father which none other than Yujiro Hanma, the strongest creature in the world. At first, Baki as the main protagonist looks similar to many protagonists from a manga with this genre, a boy who wants to get stronger, beat every his opponent, and become the king of combat. Meanwhile, most of the characters are look really similar, big, muscular,  with unfathomable strength, and very few female characters. Until this point, it seems that nothing is special from this series, but the way Keisuke Itagaki describes his characters with unpredictable fight scenes makes this manga diff...

       From what we know, Yonko is the title giving out to the most potent pirate captain in the One Piece universe. Each of them has power that is equal to each other, but they are not alliances. They are enemies fighting over territory in the New World. In fact, they are in a stalemate situation because if one of them is in an all-out war with other Yonko, it will disrupt the balance of the power. Despite their great power as a person, they are more fearsome because they are supported by hundreds or even thousand pirate crew. Some of them are much stronger officers than the rest of the crew and have complete authority to control their underling.  By far, the pirates of the Yonko are the biggest threat to the World Government, as it was in the past, when the Whitebeard Pirates fought against the Marines and the Shichibukai, leaving terrible devastation for both sides.     Most of the fantasy manga begins with the hero and his companion traveling around the world to defeat the evil forces and to bring peace to the human world. But this kind of story did not happen in this series.  Sousou no Frieren  by Kanehito Yamada & Tsukasa Abe tells a story about Frieren and her friends, Himmel, Heiter, Eisen, after defeating Demon King and their lives. The main character in this series is Frieren, she is an elf mage who loves to explore anything about magic, but when it comes to her personality she is calm, lacks expression, and ignorant.        This is a hot topic of discussion in the manga and anime community and is still debatable until recently. In these couple of years, some manga gains popularity, among others are  MHA, Black Clover, Dr.Stone, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsawman, Kimetsu no Yaiba, and so on.  The question is, why compare JJK and MHA? why not compare other series? there is some reason why JJK and MHA is the best match-up. Kimetsu no Yaiba and Chainsawman already end even though they are popular and have really good sales. Black Clover and Dr.Stone are quite popular, but their sales are very low compared to other popular series, not even approaching the top ten manga sales annually.
